Absynthe

How do you exclude a page from the navbar? I checked the header.php, but there is nowhere to exclude pages. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you guys think that she would do well in this year ?

what a fantastic them, I am planning to use it for my most important blog.

I'm a web programmer at a web design company. I was working on a client's site for her music and whatnot and she kept referring to Miley Cyrus' website [mileycyrus dot com] *shudder* for things such as a gallery. Upon further inspection, I found they're using a bastardized version of your theme... I hope they payed and agreed not to associate with you... I mean they've completely effed it up.

Or rather, you saw that lots of people were downloading it for free after Smashing Magazine listed it high up their top 100 free themes for 2009 and decided to make some cash.

Shame.

I loaded Absynthe 1.5 and it has some issues that I had manually fixed in 1.2. One is the problem with the display of articles on the main page when comments are turned off. The phrase "Comments Off" appears over and beyond the box that is supposed to hold the number of comments when there are comments. I hacked it so that the white comments count box doesn't appear when comments are turned off on an article.

Another thing I hacked in 1.2 was getting rid of that huge empty space at the bottom when there is no FM plug-in.

I think the other big problem in 1.5 is that the style sheet indents nested unordered lists so deeply that when nested comments are displayed they turn out hugely skinny and vertical.

I'm hoping to get a version of Absynthe that I can run unhacked.

Everyone, due to all the requests for updates for this theme and my desire to provide support, I have made quite a few changes and updates to this theme and have posted it on ThemeForest for $15.

I made this decision because I wanted to be able to offer support for the many people using this theme and the best way to do that is to do it commercially.

There is a changelog within this post explaining the updates and a new link to the item on ThemeForest. I understand not all of you will want to pay for a theme you've been using for free, and that's fine too.

I too am having problems with the Last.FM plugin in the footer. I'm activated and set up and...nada.

Same problem as matt. The plugin has stopped working in the footer, but still works in the sidebar.
Would be great to get it back.
Am using 1.2 version of the theme. Latest WP and 1.5.3 version of lastfm records.

Just noticed when I tried to apply it to a web site that the last.fm footer is no longer working...there was a recent change with the lastfmrecords plugin that it requires and perhaps this is what is causing the issue? the lastfmrecords plugin works in the sidebar widget, but not in the built in footer spot...

your wordpress site is generating a duplicate Mime header when sending the new comment notifications:

X-Amavis-Alert: BAD HEADER SECTION Duplicate header field: "MIME-Version"

it generates emails like:
MIME-Version: 1.0
MIME-Version: 1.0

I had the same problem with wpmu, but don't know exactly how to solve this with simple wordpress

Great theme, I've been using it since I decided to give wordpress a shot a few months ago.

One thing Im having trouble with, I'm trying to put in a thin banner between the main content bar at the top and the posts.

Not really advertising, but a banner image that points to my mural collective. Right now I just have a "sticky" post, but its taking up more room than I'd like it to, so people cant see the up to date blog posts.

If you could email me back and let me know how I can go about this, via plugin or coding, I'd really appreciate it!

And the other thing that would be really helpful is to reduce how much indentation there is in unordered lists (in the comments). The nested comments put so much space between the bullet and the text that after just a few nesting levels, the text is very tall and skinny. I've tried lots of things to no avail to make it work differently.

One thing I'd like to see, the "Edit" hyperlink on Pages.

I guess I should clarify too. It's not so much that my desire is to get rid of the fm radio, but rather, I'd love to use that space for a widgitized bottom bar. I know how to do this with other themes but cannot seem to get a working version with this one.

If comments are turned off on an article, the text "Comments Off" is returned by the function and that large text string runs outside the comments box.

I put some code in to skip the box altogether when there were no comments.

I figured out the problem with the missing headings, sidebar and footers. Some of your code uses short open php tags <? rather than <?PHP and the php.ini file effective for my site has

short_open_tag = Off

Now I'll see if I can remove all the FM stuff from the footer.

Any idea why the Blog Title and widgets don't appear when I use Absynthe? It's the only theme I've tried that has this problem. WP 2.7.1.

Really attractive theme, though. Excellent use of spacing for an open and highly readable layout.

I fixed the header by pasting in some code from another theme. I have no idea why yours didn't work.

Still stuck on the sidebar.

I uploaded the files to a folder in my yahoo webhosting files in the proper place. The theme is now appearing on my Wordpress presentation page as an available theme, but when I activate it, I'm getting a black page. In other words, it isn't working. Can you give me, a non-technical person, something I can look for which may be wrong? This theme was perfect for what I've wanted to accomplish with this blog.

what about internationalization? I would love to translate it, but I have to do it manually in the source code for now, as it is not ready for translation :-(

chris - thanks for the great theme. i am new to blogging, editing, coding...ect.. and found this to be easy to edit. i would like to change the font size in my posts. i have changed the font and sizes in other parts of the theme but for somereason this particular font chage is eluding me.

So, i cant do nothing if i want to keep both kind of widgets? I mean the ones added by me by code and the ones added in the panel.

Remove all the widgets in your WordPress admin panel and the ones in your sidebar should appear in their place. The PHP code is basically saying:

if widgets exist in admin panel
display those widgets
else
display default widgets hard-coded in sidebar.php

Hi, great theme, i need some help:

When i'm trying to add some widgets to the sidebar manually (by code) they don't appear in my blog. It only shows the widgets that i've added by selecting them in the widget menu (for example "Twitter for WordPress by Ricardo").

Am i editing the sidebar.php wrongly?

You can make a child theme for any theme. The CSS in the child theme directory simply overrides the CSS from the parent theme. I'll take a look at your site and see if I can see what you are looking at.

Comments are working, but I am having trouble editing the CSS for the comments area. The text color is too dark and it doesn't show up in EditCSS with WebDeveloper tools in Firefox. Does your theme support childthemes?

How do I add comments to the Page template?

I like the theme. Downloaded Version 1.2, Unfortunately it's not IE compatible. I am looking forward to the IE compatible version.
